The apparatus consists of the bearing blocks (2, 3), which are assembled by means of struts (15, 16, 17, 18) and the running rails (20, 21) to form a robust stand (1) of any length, depending on the number of bearing blocks (3). Constructed above the stand (1) is a frame (23) which can travel on rollers (22) and is provided with an additional longitudinal beam (26). The chainsaw (29) is fastened to this longitudinal beam (26) by means of 2 special screws (7) replacing the collar nuts of the chainsaw (29). For the purpose of the sawing operation, the frame (23) can thus be moved with the chain saw (29), mounted perpendicularly, in the longitudinal direction of the material (5) to be cut. The material (5) to be cut is held in place at the ends with special holding devices (6). The desired section thicknesses can be obtained both by laterally moving the material (5) to be cut and by shifting the entire frame (23) with chainsaw (29) by 180 DEG . With the possibility of producing wooden profiles from material (5) to be cut in the form of tree trunks or squared timber, the range of use of the chainsaws (29) is increased, which opens up new prospects for the owners of power saws. <IMAGE>
