The further processability of polymers, in particular those which are to be transferred into solutions at a later stage, can be improved if, after isolation from the aqueous polymerisation mixture, they are mechanically pressed to give pellets, slabs or the like and, if appropriate, subsequently comminuted again to the desired dimensions.
