The invention relates to a closed cabinet element which can be built on as desired. The object is based on constructing a cabinet element which is distinguished by a simple design and opens or closes the front by means of an electric drive. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that a nylon thread guided over four rollers is arranged on both side parts of the cabinet element in such a way that the front covering which consists of flexible material and is fixed by the left and right nylon threads opens or closes the cabinet.
