The invention relates to a retaining washer for a hub-like component keyed to prevent its rotation on a shaft. The retaining washer has a central through bore for a threaded shaft section or a threaded bolt to be screwed into an axial threaded bore of the shaft, and one or more coupling projections or indentations arranged on the annular surface facing the hub, which in the fitted position engage, rotationally fixed, with assigned recesses or projections of the hub and/or shaft. In addition at least one securing web, integrally formed or rotationally fixed on the side remote from the hub, is provided, which can be bent, with plastic deformation, on to a lateral flat of the threaded bolt or of a nut tightened on the threaded shaft section, preventing rotation.
