A rotor blade (1) for a turbine is disclosed. The rotor blade (1) has a cavity (10) and at least two ribs (52, 52’) at the lower end of the rotor blade. A journal (2) is provided for connecting the rotor blade to the hub (4) of a turbine rotor. The journal extends through an opening in the bottommost rib (52) at the lower end of the rotor blade and reaches as far as the topmost rib (52’), where it is inserted into a recess. The journal (2) has at least one cone (56, 66) or ledge (66’) which connect with a rib in a force-lock connection. A turbine, particularly a tidal current turbine, having at least two rotor blades (1) is further disclosed. The connection arrangement between the rotor blade and hub ensures that the rotor blade is sufficiently stable even with smaller diameters of the lower end, and the proportion of the overall length of the rotor blade for energy recovery can be substantially increased. |
