PURPOSE:To facilitate fitting and detaching a platen and setting the position of a paper bail, by slidably fitting the paper bail to an upper cover which can be opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:A paper bail fitting and detaching mechanism A, A' is fitted to an upper cover 3. Therefore, a platen 4 can be easily fitted and detached by opening the upper cover 3 through hinges 13. The mechanism with a paper bail 1 slidably fitted is so constructed that gears 5 are fitted to left and right end parts of the paper bail 1, and racked 10 to be engaged with the gears 5 are provided on the upper cover 3, so that the paper bail can be brought into accurate parallel motions in the front-rear direction by rotating the gears 5. Accordingly, the paper bail 1 can be securely set and reset relative to the platen 4. |
