Machine for gathering and sorting chestnuts and similar fruits, actuated by a single operator, comprising a fan 12 actuated by a heat engine 14 and capable of gathering the fruit by suction and of introducing it into an appropriate duct 7 in which the fruit, in a vortex movement, is separated from burrs and from the foliage and said burrs and foliage, still by virtue of the suction, are expelled to the outside whilst the fruit, thus cleaned, falls by gravity into a collecting container provided for this purpose. <IMAGE>
