The invention relates to installations for processing thin strips of steel sheets, and particularly, in a continuous annealing line, to the correction of the bending of these strips. The method of the invention consists in generating, in a first stage, the formation of the bending via at least one controlled plasticisation of the surface layers of the strip of steel and, in a second stage, in partially or totally correcting the bending formed by a periplasticisation which is the reverse of the first. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the method preferably comprising two periplasticisation rollers for forming the bending and a roller for correcting the bending formed. <IMAGE>
