An apparatus for supplying oxygen comprising a compressor (10) supplying compressed air to adsorption towers (16,18,20,22) to separate oxygen. The oxygen is delivered through a line 24 to a sampling and pulse tanks (30,32) connected by a line (38) gas storage means (not shown), from which oxygen gas may be withdrawn. The pressure of gas in the storage means is monitored by pressure controlling means (34), the said pressure of stored gas being itself used to control the delivery of compressed air from the towers. The apparatus will always supply oxygen gas at purity regardless of the demand. If the demand for oxygen is zero or slight the control means causes the compressor to be switched off. <IMAGE> |
