A fillable toothbrush has a handle containing a chamber for a tooth cleaning agent and a stem on one end. A channel extends through the stem from the chamber to an outlet opening in the region of bristles located at the free stem end. The other end of the handle is provided with an actuation member for actuation of a pump unit located between the chamber and the channel, the pump unit having a valve facing the supply chamber in the closing direction. The chamber for a tooth cleaning agent contains a holder whose volume can be changed slightly and which has an opening whose edge is tightly connected to an inner wall of the chamber. A venting orifice extends from this chamber into the environment. The holder may be, for example, of bellows shape.
