Interlocking slab for reducing the rainwater drainage from paths and open spaces into the drains

Interlocking slab which is suitable for reducing the rainwater drainage from paths and open spaces into the drains and is characterized by an increased reliability against displacements of the slabs horizontally and vertically with respect to the subgrade, and also by a firm cohesion of the slabs. Openings, which become larger towards the ground, make possible openings which do not impair walking, facilitate the penetration of water into the ground and nevertheless do not become blocked. The increased strength of the slabs, making possible a self-supporting slab area, is ensured by different means, by specific shapes of edge indentation, by a cross- or star-shaped corner slab and by plastic or metal joining pieces inserted into the slabs. The increased strength of the interlocking slab arrangement permits laying even on less firm subgrades. As a result, the penetration of the water into the soil is promoted.
