The invention relates to the field of tools making it possible to handle hot objects. The device which is the subject of the invention is a fork for supporting a dish or food, which is associated with a cooking grill. This device enables an operator 6, gripping a fork 3 by its handle 5, to recover a hot dish 4 placed on a cooking grill 1 raised with respect to its supporting frame 2 belonging to a hearth 10, without this fork interfering with the grill, and then to put down the dish and fork assembly on the surface 11. The device which is the subject of the invention is intended in particular for cooks so as to enable them to remove hot dishes from household ovens without the risk of burning themselves. <IMAGE>
