摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having excellent heat response characteristics and high sensitivity, by incorporating a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the general formula, wherein each of X and Y is a substd. or unsubstd. aryl group, is incorporated as a sensitizer, in a thermal recording material comprising a normally colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a color developer for developing the color of the dye precursor by reacting with the latter when being heated, whereby a thermal recording material having excellent heat response characteristic and high sensitivity is obtained. The sensitizer is ordinarily added in an amount of at least 5wt% based on the amount of the color developer. If the amount of the sensitizer is less than 5wt%, the sensitivity-enhancing effect is insufficient, whereas an addition of more than 400wt% of the sensitizer is inadvantageous on an economic basis. The dye precursor may be an acidic substance, i.e., an electron- acceptive compound which is conventionally used for a thermal recording paper. Particularly, a phenol derivative or an aromatic carboxylic acid derivative is used as the color developer.
