The apparatus is controlled by clocked electronic assembly to perform the required functions such as cleaning and sterilisation and also the filling and ejection of the bottles. A probe, which is introduced into a bottle, generates a signal to indicate the height of the filling liquid to an electronic control unit. The unit controls an electromagent in the filling valve and also an electromagnet in a gas exhaust valve. The control unit comprises a processor with PROM and RAM memories and is driven from a clock generator to provide programmed control for all filling operations.
