Enclosed heat engine which is either rotary, or has reciprocating movement, or an open cycle, or with internal combustion and whose mechanical and geometric arrangements make it possible firstly to intake a volume V0 of <<fresh>> gases, then to exhaust a volume V3 of burnt gases, then to compress the remaining gases followed by their combustion and their expansion under conditions making it possible to recover the maximum amount of energy in the form of mechanical work by increasing the expansion as far as a pressure which is as low as required and possibly by the in situ conversion of a liquid into a pressurised gas whose energy can be recovered in the form of mechanical work within the same enclosed space. <IMAGE>
