The punching press has a C-shaped frame accommodating a tool holder device(27) with a deep jaw opening. The frame is supported by base frame(3) and the jaw opening accommodates a workpiece feeding and positioning mechanism(45). On the front ends of the arms several tool pairs(23,25) are provided, arranged in rows. The optionally selected sets of upper and lower tools are operated by an impact head(11) reciprocating parallel to the motion of the ram(9). The impact head is movable laterally to select the required set of upper and lower tool pair to be operated. |
