The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device that controls occurrences of color fringes and has superior display quality without increasing power consumption. Provided is a liquid crystal display device that has first and second pixels, which include red picture elements, green picture elements, and blue picture elements, arranged on a display surface, wherein the device has a color filter substrate, liquid crystal layer, and array substrate in that order. The color filter substrate has red, green, and blue color filters. The array substrate has: red picture element electrodes; green picture element electrodes; blue picture element electrodes; first drive signal wiring connected to red picture element electrodes and green picture element electrodes constituting first pixels and blue picture element electrodes constituting second pixels; and second drive signal wiring connected to blue picture element electrodes constituting first pixels and red picture element electrodes and green picture element electrodes constituting second pixels. Alternating current voltage drive is carried out such that voltages applied to the red picture element electrodes and green picture element electrodes for the first pixels and the second pixels have the same polarity and voltages applied to the green picture element electrodes and blue picture element electrodes have reverse polarities. |
