An alarm device, comprising a so-called alarm tag, consists of two parts arranged so that each of them can be positioned on one side of an article, for example an article of clothing, of fur or another article, where a needle is provided to extend from one part, through the article, to the other part. The alarm tag comprises means for receiving an alternating magnetic field transmitted to the alarm tag. According to the invention, the alarm tag 1 comprises means 8, 9, 11, 12 which are capable of emitting an acoustic signal when the parts 2, 3 of the alarm tag 1 are moved away from each other while the alarm tag 1 is in a first, active, state and which do not emit an acoustic signal when the parts 2, 3 of the alarm tag 1 are moved away from each other while the alarm tag 1 is in a second, inactive, state. <IMAGE>
