Machine tool for the grinding of cutting tools

The machine tood for the grinding of cutting tools has a machine stand 1 on which a holding fixture 2 for the cutting tool and a support 5 for the rotationally driven grinding element 9 are movably arranged. The support 5 bears a pivotable stand 6 and a grinding spindle head 7 movable thereon. The grinding spindle head 7 is pivotable on a circular guide face 10 of the stand 6, the mid-point M of the circular guide face 10 lying on the grinding-spindle axis 8. The stand 6 is pivotable about a vertical axis 11 which passes through the mid-point M of the circular guide face. Consequently, it is possible to move any desired point of the grinding element at a defined distance and angle with respect to the mid-point, i.e. the grinding element performs reproducible and determined grinding movements relative to the cutting tool. A numerical control of the individual movements is thus possible in practice. <IMAGE>
