In the case of a conventional shaver, the angles between the cutting edges of a blade and the front edge of the latter and between the two lateral edges of a blade pressing plate and the front edge of the latter are right angles in each case. If this design is used, the head section of the blade cannot be used during shaving. In the shaver according to the invention, grooves are formed in the head sections both of the blade (3) and also of the blade pressing plate (2), which grooves are shaped in such a way that the angles between the front edge (7) and the cutting edges (5) of the blade (3) and between the front edge (8) of the blade pressing plate (2) and the lateral edges of the latter are acute angles in each case. <IMAGE>
