The invention relates to an actuating element for fire extinguisher fittings with compressed-gas steel cylinder for triggering the valve spindle and establishing the operational readiness of the fire extinguisher. The object of the invention is based upon the finding of a technical solution in which the actuating element fulfils not only the triggering function but also the restoring function of the operational readiness. The object is achieved according to the invention by an actuating element which has two separate apertures in the triggering region and is connected by a parallel slot and two inclined sliding faces.
