Laboratory apparatuses are known having a housing into which are built in switching units, control units, display units and/or feedback control units each having a rectangular or square module plate, held on a common support. In order to create a laboratory apparatus in which the switching units, control units, display units and/or feedback control units can be combined individually as desired, these units being constructed in the manner of a modular system and thus permitting adaptation to individual laboratory apparatuses, the support comprises two guide rails running parallel to each other which are joined by a transverse rail at each of their ends and each module plate has at least one detent or clamping element at each of the opposite edge regions which hold the module plate to the guide rails seated or clamped.
