Switch-capacitor network for non-linear processing of analog signals

Principle and embodiment of a switch capacitor multiplier divider (SCMD) having the transfer characteristic of v=kxy/w are described. The basic version of this circuit consists of two phase inverters (2, 5) controlled by a voltage comparator (K), which are followed by switch-capacitor low-pass filters (H1(z), H2(z)). It only needs switches, capacitors and operational amplifiers and can therefore be integrated without problems. Particular applications are squaring, root extraction and rms-value calculation and the transformation of coordinates in industrial robot control systems. <IMAGE>
