<p>Assay for measuring heparin in a biological fluid by incubating the fluid in the presence of an immobilized heparin inhibitor (preferably a positively charged polymer of 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carboiimide) causing the heparin to bind to the inhibitor forming a 2-component complex; incubating the two-component complex with an anti-heparin antibody causing the antibody to bind to the complex forming a three-component heparin/inhibitor/anti-heparin complex; incubating said three-component complex with detectable second antibody recognizing said anti-heparin antibody forming a four-component heparin/inhibitor/anti-heparin (second antibody) complex and detecting the amount of said second antibody in said four-component complex.</p> |
