The invention relates to a joint for steel tubes, which joint can especially be used for the petrochemical industry, of the type in which the male element and the female element are connected by threads, whilst part of the surface of the outline of each thread 14, 12 is strongly pressed in the screwed state against the thread of the other element, a first joint comprising, on at least certain parts of its thread 10, a lining whose volume and shape correspond exactly to the volume and shape of the clearance which exists in the screwed state between the said first element and a second element of the joint whose dimensions would be at the limit of the machining tolerances which allows the greatest possible clearance in the mounted state of the joint.
