PURPOSE:To reduce the speed change impact by providing means for detecting the changing time of a speed change lever and means for detecting the completing time of engagement of a subtransmission thereby limiting the output torque of engine below a predetermined level during the interval between the changing time of the speed change range and the completing time of engagement. CONSTITUTION:The output from an engine C is transmitted through a continuously variable main transmission A and a subtransmission B to a drive wheel. The output torque of the engine C is limited below a predetermined level by an engine output torque control means G from the time when a detecting means E detects the change of range of a transmission D from the neutral condition to the traveling condition to the time when a detecting means F detects the completing time of engagement of the subtransmission B. Consequently, even upon racing of the engine C, a large torque is not applied onto the continuously variable main transmission A during engagement of the subtransmission B, thereby the belt of the transmission does not slip and the speed change impact is reduced. |
