The package comprises a container constituted by a stack of self-supporting trays 1, 2, each comprising a bottom 4 for supporting a row of six bottles laid head-to-tail, and lateral walls of height greater than the diameter of the bottles; each tray comprises separating means 10 to wedge the bottles laterally; a closing band 3 covers at least the upper face and two lateral faces of the container and is glued to the container at least in the end zones 46,47 of the lateral faces.
