An explosionproof socket element (10) has a housing (11) which is in the form of a sleeve and has a union nut (12). A limiter circuit element (18) is arranged in the interior of the housing, to which limiter circuit element (18) sockets (14.1, 14.2), which are arranged in an insulating element (13), are soldered via contact pins (19.1, 19.2). Connecting wires (16.1, 16.2) are also soldered on. This soldered arrangement is inserted into the housing and is mounted therein with the aid of plastic potting (17) which, in addition to the mounting function, also carries out an insulating and explosion-proofing function. Particularly space-saving socket elements can be achieved using this construction. <IMAGE>
