A relay for connection in the subscriber circuit of a telephone exchange, whose coil winding consists of two coils which are arranged in the subscriber circuit symmetrically with respect to the hook switch (cradle switch) which is likewise arranged therein, which coils are wound in the opposite winding sense in a bifilar manner onto a sealed-contact or reed-contact arrangement of the circuit which is to be switched, in accordance with P3526765.8, the relay being characterised in that the connecting tabs (1, 2) of the contact springs (3, 4) of the sealed-contact or reed-contact arrangement (6) are bent radially outwards and parallel to the longitudinal centre axis (5) of the coil windings (L1, L2) at the ends of the coil windings (L1, L2), the limbs (19, 20) which come to rest along the outside of the coil windings (L1, L2) in each case extending over at most half the length of the coil windings (L1, L2). <IMAGE>
