An industrial reproduction robot has a control device in which teaching data corresponding to various types of workpieces for controlling an activity of the robot in dependence on teaching data selected during a reproduction mode are previously stored. In order to simplify the teaching operation of the reproduction robot, a voice input device (11a) for recording a voice input and a voice discrimination device (12) for discriminating the voice input and for generating a discrimination result are provided and it is ensured that the control device (13) controls the operation of the robot (14) in dependence on teaching data which have been selected in dependence on the discrimination result generated by the voice discrimination device during the reproduction mode. <IMAGE>
