Process for the production of coloured patterns on fabrics or similar articles, which consists in flattening the fabric on a supporting table, characterised in that: - a plurality of colouring members which are in the form of a flexible, leakproof container enclosing a solution or dispersion of conventional dyes which are compatible with the nature of the said fabric are distributed on the surface of the said fabric; - the diffusion of the dye(s) through their containers is brought about; - the containers emptied of dye are removed; - the fixation of the said dyes is carried out.
