PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding assisting device and a welding assisting method which can be applied to welding with keyhole welding and arc welding combined, and reduces the total cost required for defect prevention processing at start-terminal ends of a weld line.SOLUTION: A welding assisting device 10 includes: bottom extension plates 24 joined to start-terminal ends 22 of a weld line 14 of base materials 11, so as to extend a groove bottom 17 of the two base materials 11 being welded and joined; two side surface extension members 28 which sandwich and are fixed to each of the bottom extension plates 24, and each of which has a pseudo side surface 27 shaped like a groove side surface 26 of a groove 18 to extend the groove side surface 26 of the groove 18; and a water flow tube 29 in which a part of a passage is arranged inside the side surface extension member 28.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
