The process for the production of mouldings from fire protection composition, in which a free-flowing base material mixture comprising fire protection composition base materials which contains at least one resin, and foam-forming substances which expand at an expansion temperature, is converted into a composition which can be shaped plastically, and the composition which can be shaped plastically is moulded with the aid of moulds. The base material mixture is mixed with free-flowing thermoplastic whose plastication temperature is below the expansion temperature. This base material/plastic mixture is converted into the composition which can be shaped plastically, at a conversion temperature below the expansion temperature. This composition is shaped during thermoplastic processing.
