The invention relates to an optical coupling element with a mixer element, to the input and output of which in each case a plurality of optical waveguides is connected. According to the invention, the mixer element is divided into an input and an output mixer element, between these two mixer elements an optical waveguide covering all outputs of the input mixer element being provided and into this optical waveguide an optical amplifier having a gain factor compensating for the attenuation between an input of the input mixer element and an output of the output mixer element being inserted.
