An amount of timber of the required size is collected in a compartment. The base of the compartment is then lowered to a transporter beneath the compartment so that the timber may be moved away. A component which seals the bottom of each compartment follows the bottom when it moves upwards and downwards. In the bottom lower position, the component is freed from it, allowing discharge of the timber from the compartment on to the transporter. |
