The invention relates to a coin-operated vending machine, preferably a cigarette machine, with a coin-insertion shaft having a following coin-testing and coin-counting device, and with a coin output and a product-receiving and product-dispensing device which allows the extraction of a desired product from the product-receiving device via the product-dispensing device only after the input of a predetermined number of specific coins tested for authenticity and which outputs false coins again via the coin output. So that the product extraction can be carried out only by authorised persons, the invention provides for the clearance of a product to be made dependent on the additional input and testing of an authorisation mark capable of being output again.
