PURPOSE:To enhance printing quality without making a head structure complicated, by moving a printing means and printing paper relatively in minute quantity after the finish of the first printing to print the same data as that at the time of the first scanning. CONSTITUTION:When a command designating high density printing is outputted from a host computer through an interface circuit 10, a microcomputer 3 confirms the command and a pattern of usual density is printed by the scanning of one line of a printing head. Thereafter, a pulse motor 6 is rotated, for example, by the quantity corresponding to paper feed 1/3 the dot interval in a vertical direction. Since paper has inertia, said paper inevitably moves by about 1.5/216 inch. Thereafter, when the same data as that in the above mentioned scanning is printed, printing density increases and, therefore, the emphasized form of a character is obtained and, when data is reversed between the first and second times to perform reciprocating printing, an increase in a printing speed can be realized. |
