PURPOSE:To permit recording and reproduction with high sensitivity by laminating fine polymer particle as a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:This optical recording medium is formed by providing the recording layer 9 consisting of the fine polymer particle via a reflection layer 8 on a substrate 7 and providing a protective layer 11 as the outermost layer via an adhesive layer 10 on the recording layer 9. Since the recording layer 9 is formed by laminating the fine polymer particle in the above-mentioned manner, the fine polymer particle of a part 12 projected with laser light for writing is melted and softened by the projection of the heat-mode laser light although the surface is rugged. The rugged surface is then smoothed, by which pits are formed and information is written. While the part not projected with the writing light is low in reflectivity, the part 12 projected with the writing laser light where the pits are formed is smoothed and, therefore, the reflectivity is high. Reading is executed from the difference in the reflectivity of both parts by projecting a reading out ray 13 thereto. The pits are thereby formed with the high sensitivity. |
