PURPOSE:To obtain a drug composition for external use containing corticosteroids and a nicotinic acid ester or/and salicylic acid ester. CONSTITUTION:A drug composition for external use, obtained by blending 0.01-1.0wt% corticosteroids, e.g. prednisolone, cortisone, triamcinolone, betamethansone, etc., and a nicotinic acid ester, e.g. ester with a 1-6C alcohol, benzyl ester, etc., or/and salicylic acid ester, e.g. ester with a 1-6C alcohol, ethylene glycol ester, etc., which are liquid at ordinary temperature and further an absorbent, e.g. DMSO, DMA, DMF, etc., readily absorbing the corticosteroids from the skin and capable of effectively utilizing the effects thereof. The precutaneous absorbability is extremely high and esters have individual anti- inflammatory, analgesic or vitamin action to synergistically enhance the effects of the steroids. |
