PURPOSE:To obtain fine granules, consisting of aggregates of aspartame and saccharide microcrystals and capable of providing excellent sweetness with a good dissolution rate without uneven sweetness, by dissolving the aspartame and saccharides in water, etc., concentrating and drying the resultant solution. CONSTITUTION:Aspartame (alpha-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester) and saccharides, e.g. sucrose, etc., are completely dissolved in water or a mixed solvent thereof and an organic solvent at preferably 40-60 deg.C. The resultant solution is then concentrated to dryness, as necessary, pulverized and sieved to afford the aimed fine granules, consisting of aggregates of aspartame and saccharide microcrystals and having preferably 32-60 mesh grain size. |
