PURPOSE:To obtain novel microorganism, having the ability to produce N- acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase and belonging to the genus Catellatospora of actinomyces, by separating from soil. CONSTITUTION:Novel actinomyces, separated from soil in various places of Japan and belonging to the genus Catellatospora, e.g. Catellatospora tsunoense 6420-P (FERM BP-1195), Catellatospora citrea subsp. methionotrophica 6257-B (FERM BP-1191), Catellatospora matsumotoense 6393-C (FERM BP-1196) and Catellatospora ishikariense 6432-C (FERM BP-1194). The above-mentioned four strains are differ from the existing species 6257-C and 6183-E in physiological properties (shown in the table)and N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase is produced by cultivation in a nutrient culture medium. |
