Torsional vibration damper consisting of three concentric ring elements, namely a hub ring, a flywheel ring and a spring ring, in which the flywheel ring is provided radially to the inside of the hub ring and of the spring ring, which is arranged between the hub ring and the flywheel ring. The operating frequency of the torsional vibration damper is thereby made speed-dependent, in particular in such a way that the effective operating frequency of the torsional vibration damper is shifted increasingly towards higher values as the speed increases by increased stiffness of the spring coupling between the flywheel ring and the hub ring owing to the action of the centrifugal force.
