In a method and a device for the coulometric determination of free chlorine, especially in the form of hypochlorite and hypochlorous acid, and of chlorine dioxide, ozone and the like in liquids or gases, it is proposed to transfer the substance being analysed from a sample vessel buffered to a specified pH to the coulometric measuring cell by means of a gas stream and to carry out the measurement in the said cell preferably by means of a redox electrolyte. <IMAGE>
