The invention describes a boat hull, in particular a sailboard, with a plastic shell, a reinforcing insert of plastic, a first foamed material in the outer region of the hull and a second foamed material in the inner region of the hull, whose density is less than that of the first foamed material, with the reinforcing insert being embedded in the first foamed material and tensioned therein. In manufacturing the hulls, a reinforcing insert of a prestretched plastic with an internal stress is used, that returns at least partly to its previous shape due to the heat of reaction released when the foamed materials expand, and thus tenses. The new hull is characterised in particular by a high elastic stiffness and good impact absorption ability with a minimal weight.
