Heterocyclic dihydroxyquinoxaline compounds of the formula <IMAGE> where -A-, together with the two carbon atoms designated 1 and 2, is selected from <IMAGE>, <IMAGE> or <IMAGE> R1, R2 and R3 are, independently, H, halogen, CN, NH2, NO2, SO3H, SO2NH2 or CONH2. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the compounds, to pharmaceutical preparations thereof, and to their use. The compounds can be used in the treatment of symptoms caused by hyperactivity in the excitatory neurotransmitters.
