A method of joining a floor drain to a floor, in which the drain is inserted between and resting on a pair of joists and is fastened thereto by means of nails or screws through lugs projecting from a mounting flange secured to the drain the mounting flange may be ground down and adjusted to match the height of the surrounding floor.
