<p>A process extinguishes fires in rooms of buildings or similar using liquid particles. To avoid the usual damage to floors, walls or objects located in the affected rooms occasioned by the extinguishing water rather than the fire, the process comprises the following steps: ultrasonic vaporization of the extinguishing liquid and application of the extinguishing liquid vapour to the seat of the fire. The process is implemented by a device comprising an extinguishing liquid container (1) in the base of which is arranged a sonotrode (2) for vaporizing the extinguishing liquid (3) present in the container. A duct (4) leading to the region threatened by the fire is connected to the container (1) and conveys the extinguishing liquid vapour to the seat of the fire.</p> |
