The twin-needle sewing machine, is switched automatically to single- needle sewing for negotiating corners, i.e. only the outer of the two needles sews as fabric is turned about the stationary inner needle. Control appts. is settable as to the number of stitches to be sewn between corners, before the machine is switched to corner-sewing mode, and also as to the number of corner stitches to be sewn before twin-needle sewing recommences.
