To generate reset signals when switching on electronic circuits, it is known to use an RC section and to use the voltage across the capacitor, after conversion in a threshold stage, as reset signal. If the reset signal must have a long reset period, it is difficult to generate the long reset period with adequate tolerance by means of the RC section. In addition, a relatively large capacitor is required. According to the invention, a temperature-dependent resistor (K) is used instead of a capacitor, and the voltage across the temperature-dependent resistor (K) is used as reset signal (RS) after conversion in the threshold stage (ST). In addition, a circuit (C1, R1, C2) is provided which provides an adequate cooling time even when the operating voltage (U) fails for only a short time, and is additionally used as starting aid. Generation of reset signals, particularly in the case of digital electronic circuits. <IMAGE>
