In the case of a heat accumulator apparatus with a lid 1 and insulating plates 5, 6 arranged between the lid 1 together with vertical side walls 2, 3 and an accumulator core 4, to improve the sealing contact between the horizontal insulating plate 5 and the end faces of the vertical insulating plates 6 situated therebelow, tongues 11 are additionally provided on a bent lateral edge 12 of the lid 1, the tongues engaging in openings in the rear wall 2 and being angled at less than 90@ with respect to the lateral edge 12, so that they rest non-positively on the horizontal insulating plate 5. <IMAGE>
